ROMANTIC PORCHES

What makes a porch romantic? For me it's details like gingerbread trim and columns, window boxes dripping with beautiful flowers, and architectural pieces. It's also a jaw dropping view, be it water or a gorgeous English garden bursting with color. And there are touches like fluffy pillows and candles, or white twinkling lights draped about.

What makes a porch romantic for you?

I'm joining JILL at GYPSY BROCANTE for another meeting of the PORCH CLUB. Have you joined yet? Go HERE to see all the participants and read Jill's post about how she romances her porch.

I'm sharing images from a book I bought ages ago titled PLEASURES OF THE PORCH by Daria Price Bowman & Maureen LaMarca.

Enjoy...

They are all quite beautiful! I love my porch but if it were on a lake or the ocean...it would be perfect! I love the charming house in the last photo.

Hmmm...I can't pick a favorite so I guess I will have to spend a night in each to pick one!

Wonderful book...thanks for sharing and have a great week!

I have rarely seen a beautifully and thoughtfully decorated Porch that I didn't like or wouldn't feel comfortable sitting out upon. Whether elaborate or minimalistically simple, just sitting outside on a Porch and enjoying the great outdoors in an outdoor room is a Joy.

Oh my gosh, that book is fabulous. I totally agree with everything you've related to as romantic on a porch. ♥ And I'd take any of those porches from your book!

I'm visiting for Porch Club Monday.
Hugs,
Stephanie ♥

My dream house has always been a Victorian with gingerbread trim a turret and a wrap around porch. I love those images.

I'm experience serious porch envy tonight Shelley. These porches have me dreaming....
For a long time, I have wanted to add a screened porch to the end of the house, just off of Landon's room, so he could experience sleeping outside. He (and I) would love it. I hope someday it will become a reality.
Such a beautiful post my friend.
sending big hugs
