Do ideas just "pop" into your head about re~locating furniture in your home?
Isn't it awesome when you find a new and often better home for a treasured piece?
I shake my head in wonderment at people who won't buy something because they don't have a place for it...
I NEVER buy that way cause it's rare that something stays in one place in my home...
Are you like moi?
Well yesterday this switcheroo popped into my brain out of nowhere...
My beloved white chippy medical cabinet moved from the long wall next to a tall beadboard cupboard to here under the window. It bounces light right into an otherwise dark room.
This old primitive teachers desk now lives where the white medical cabinet used to.
I love it when a plan comes together...

I love seeing pics of your home and things. You always show the coolest stuff!
It looks great...you have some awesome pieces! :)
I used to buy off the cuff and always found a place, but now with our new home it is limited in space and decorating areas. TOO MANY WINDOWS not enough Walls. LOL
I think my husband agreed with this house because change is so limited.
Yours looks great.
I get so inspired by seeing your ideas
Amy
wonderful, shelley...i grew up with a mother who is so deliberate (partly because of tight finances and partly due to perfectionism) in choosing something, that she would look for 2 years to find something for a certain spot on the wall! it was quite a revelation to me when i grew up and realized it didn't have to be that way...now i have too much stuff and never get it put up anywhere...not sure which is preferable?!?

I look forward to seeing pics of your home, especially the awesome architectural pieces that you have! That medical cabinet is fabulous! I am always changing stuff around. My husband never knows what to expect, but always loves what I do. Hope yours does too! :)
I always love getting a peek into your beautiful home. We are in a small house here and we are at the point where if something comes in - something has to go out! We are like Amy - too many windows and not enough walls.

Great Pieces! I love that Shabby Chic kind of look.

Oooh, I love it all!!
It's so good to know that I'm not the ONLY one who does this. Just this morning The Divine Mr. M and I had an in depth discussion regarding my new furniture purchases and rearranging!!!!
Gorgeous rearrangement!!!
Poor Mr. Pea...he won't know where to hang his hat when he gets home!

~*~*I LOVE your medical cabinet..it is chippy shabby white perfection!!Lucky girl you!I am like you..always seem to be moving things around.Hubby always comes home to a new decor change! Thanks for sharing..your house is gorgeous!~*~*Rachel
You have some fabulous antique pieces, Shelley!! You always display them so beautifully... LOVE it!! :)
Hugs ~ Jo
Gorgeous!!!
Although I think that cabinet needs to move slightly north....like along the coast of the US until it hits NY :) It would feel very welcome here!
I could always find somewhere to put that medical cabinet. Love it! I agree, if I bought with the mindset of "where will I put this", I would have missed out on some of my favorite pieces.
Have a wonderful week!

My stars, your home is beautiful. I'm like you. I'll buy it if I know I can use it one day...ha! ~Mindy
Love your switcheroo!

The re-arrangement looks fantastic! I too am constantly moving things around, its so much fun finding a home for your treasures. Happy "ranging"!

I'm totally like you and buy things I love and find places for them later. This home is a challenge though since it's open concept and too many windows - it takes the fun out of it for me! :)
it's the best way to decorate!! you look like you have some amazing treasures in your home!!!

Love the switcheroo! I just purchase what I love and know it will find the perfect place. :)
Wishing you a lovely day, Shelley!
OMG all the cream white chippyness and architectural pieces, you got me drooling again! Is that an angel wing that I spy on your dressform? I want a beautiful pair of wings for mine so badly lol
Yes these ideas are the best! I too love switching around my furnitures when suddenly a good idea springs to mind. The desk looks perfect there next to the beadboard cupboard!
Have a great start into the new week Shelley!
xoxo~ Carola
