Okay here it is. My version of a coin purse necklace based on the ones in my earlier post. How did I do it?
Well first you need a coin purse. Mine came from etsy~~a fantabulous source for cool vintage stuff. It had an aged gold trim on it so I used one of the little rings where a chain would go and snipped the other off.
Not having a gold chain and not really wanting to use a gold chain, I added some pretty seam binding in a color that goes with the purse. Next I added an old skeleton key along the seam binding for interest.
Last I added an old locket pin to the front of the purse to make it look more custom and more funky.
So it looks bigger in the pics than it is. Office girl's waist is just a "tad" smaller than mine. My purse is 4" by 4". The anthro ones were about 3 and 3/4" wide for the smaller ones and the largest one was 8" long. They looked tiny in the catalog pic but actually are fairly large. So mine is close in size and for less than $20 I think it's kinda cool.

Good for you, I love it! I'm going to try making one also, you've inspired me....when I do I'll post about it!
Shelley, Love it!!Are you going to sell them? You should. I'm working on a coin purse project myself. Hopefully I'll finish one day. Lisa
Girl, you could have some major bling bling going on if you'd have used one of Mr. SP's gold chains, woo hoo, just kidding Mr. SP! Really Shell, pretty!
Very cute! When I was a little girl in the early 60's I had a change purse on a gold chain that I got for Christmas. The change purse was a peach color. I remember it so well! I love how you embellished yours!~Patti
I think that is darling! It certainly has the same feel as the anthro one, but a lot more meaning.
What do I think?
I think I like yours better.
That's what *I* think. :-)

That is fabulous, Shelley - I love it!
Shelley you made yourself suchconsulum a beautiful necklace. And I do believe that these would go very well in your booth at the shows too. What a lovely way to show off vintage coin purses. You know what I'll be looking for next.
Who needs Antro when I have Shelley?!
