For you, some shots of things that caught my eye and thought they would be fab in sepia...

Loved this chair. The seller was nowhere to be found so I had to leave it behind...

Masses of pearls...

A stampede...

Prisms and watch faces...

What Was Off Is Now On

Nothing like waiting til the eleventh hour to decide to do a three day antique show... I was planning to do the show at Renninger's Antique Extravaganza this weekend in Mt. Dora FL, then I sort of talked myself out of it...

Last night I decided to do it. Yikes. I am on a break from throwing a load together and wanted to put the word out that I will be there, in the field, booth 1123. If you were there in November, it's the row right behind where I was at that show.

I have lots of good garden junk, primitives and some stuff from my personal stash that is awesome.

Hope to see you there...

18 Years And Counting

Posted by Picasa

Today marks 18 years of marriage for Mr. Sweet Pea and I.

We started as friends in 1989 and remained so for a couple of years. Then he went off to Desert Storm and I went on with my life. I would call his room at the base once in awhile to see if he was back. We didn't correspond while he was gone. One day I called and the line was busy...

It could be him or it could be his roommate...

It was him. He was back and finally getting his discharge, months overdue. He was moving to the St. Pete area to live with a friend he grew up with in West Virginia. We talked for a long time and then as we all casually do and never expect it to happen, I invited him to come to Winter Park sometime and we'd get together. Nothing intended, just friends...

One month later the phone rang... It was him. He and his friend were coming to Orlando for the weekend. I asked a friend of mine to go. The whole time I was asking myself "Is this a date?". It felt different.

It was.

Less than two months later he moved to Winter Park. With me. That next February we made it official. We said "I do".

And 18 years later we are still saying it...

Happy anniversary Mr. Sweet Pea. I love you...

Happy Valentine's Day

I hope your Valentine's Day is filled with warm and happy moments. The postcard above is over 100 years old and belonged to my Great Grandma Emma. I feel so blessed to have it.

Hugs,

Well What Do You Think?

Okay here it is. My version of a coin purse necklace based on the ones in my earlier post. How did I do it?

Well first you need a coin purse. Mine came from etsy~~a fantabulous source for cool vintage stuff. It had an aged gold trim on it so I used one of the little rings where a chain would go and snipped the other off.

Not having a gold chain and not really wanting to use a gold chain, I added some pretty seam binding in a color that goes with the purse. Next I added an old skeleton key along the seam binding for interest.

Last I added an old locket pin to the front of the purse to make it look more custom and more funky.

So it looks bigger in the pics than it is. Office girl's waist is just a "tad" smaller than mine. My purse is 4" by 4". The anthro ones were about 3 and 3/4" wide for the smaller ones and the largest one was 8" long. They looked tiny in the catalog pic but actually are fairly large. So mine is close in size and for less than $20 I think it's kinda cool.

What do you think?

It's Been Fun...

Happy WHITE WEDNESDAY! As many of you may be finding by now, it's getting really hard to find new stuff to show you on Wednesdays. It's been really fun and I love the challenge, but for now I must say adieu to WHITE WEDNESDAY. I may pop back now and then. My schedule is about to get very hectic as it is 6 WEEKS FROM TODAY THAT WE LEAVE FOR TEXAS. And I have another show at RENNINGER'S in a week. Sooooo....

I'm leaving you with what I hope are interesting testiments to my love of chippy white stuff.

To KATHLEEN thanks so much for letting me be a part of this. You rock... Check out her blog HERE to see who else loves WHITE.

This is my all~time fav huge chippy white cupboard with original tin panels.

A hinge on a medicine cabinet.

The latch.

Corbels and a clock face.

Shells and a wasp nest in an old bulb pot.

Candle in an old light fixture. A fab corbel on my back porch.

Chippy drawers. Sounds like a personal problem doesn't it?

Atop a cupboard. A huge old store jar filled with dried hydrangeas. Rusty candlestick.

Chippy fragment.

Metal flower that was part of a candleholder for the garden.

Old sewer balls. Don't ask.

Candlesticks atop the mantle.

Hope you've enjoyed my installments for WHITE WEDNESDAY.

Hugs,

Shelley

Give Me A Break...

Okay I just had to do a post about this.

I'm watching the evening news and on comes a commercial for Cialis, you know the one for that "male" problem...

Let me set the scenario. A couple are in the middle of painting a room a hideous shade of yellow. Then suddenly they stop mid~stroke (I couldn't resist), turn to each other with THAT look in their eyes.

The next thing ya know they are abandoning the painting with half the wall painted at best and step out into a green meadow that just happens to appear to apparently go off and do the do.

Just wait til they get back and see that the paint has dried on half the wall and the whole project is ruined. I'd love to see the look she gives him then...

And don't you love when a green meadow just appears off your dining room?

Funny but painting never inspires this reaction in me...

I'm just sayin'.

So Stealing This

Okay I am so stealing this idea as soon as I find one of these...

Are these adorable or what? And from where else but ANTHROPOLOGIE... Necklaces with fabulous little coin purses. Who would think this up or discover this but THEM.

At $178 to $248 each I am very inspired to try and make my own.

Bet you are too...

WHITE WEDNESDAY~~SNUGGLE UP

Do you like to snuggle up in a cozy spot to read or watch tv? I do too. After the addition of the vintage chair in the living room I was able to move a comfy chair into the guest room next to the bed. It's the perfect place to unwind after a busy day.

Come in. Sit down. Put your feet up. I'll be in shortly with a cup of tea...

Happy White Wednesday!! Be sure to pay a visit to our host KATHLEEN'S blog and check out all the other fab participants!
