According to the latest edition of Nightline on ABC we may be in for some real sticker shock at the pump.
Not my usual blogger topic, the price of gasoline, but at just a little over three weeks til a long trip from Florida to Texas and then back, I am really afraid of what the fuel cost will be to my show.
Possibly $4 or more per gallon?
Oh my.
Not good folks. Not good at all.

Yes we try to be very careful when planning our trips just to places we never thought about before our budget is already very tight and the gas prices does not help matters. Good luck at your show! Hugs, From Diane in California
Yeah....this is going to be fun, huh? I hate to get started on this whole gas issue, but they seem to get us one way or another with one excuse or another......grrrr!
xoxo laurie
It appears that the world is upside down at present, earthquakes, floods and civil unrest throughout North Africa, but hey look on the bright side, enjoy your trip and worry about prices later cos that's what I do and feel better for it. Have an excellent weekend xx
Hey Girlie
How are you, sounds like busy-getting ready for Texas! I don't like to hear the gasoline thing... I am doing the Farm Chicks show in June which is in WA...yikes.
I think you might be right about the cabinet originally holding coffee. It makes sense. The size of the bins are too large for home use and the piece just has that commercial look to it. I researched the Chicago Cabinet Co and it gave me a book on Pharmaceuticals so that is why I came to that conclusion. All interesting but what it is going to be is a office cubby... ha
I wish I was going to Round Top this Mar but no can do...nuts.
Have a great weekend
Blessings

Just saw $3.41 yesterday (and in downtown DC it's routinely 35 cents higher. Good thing you'll have a light load coming home, as you'll undoubtedly sell everything.
Yep it's pretty scarry. I suggested to Michael to fill up all the vehicles cause it's already going up...up...up. Hopefully it won't get as bad as predicted....we can only pray!
CYA,
Susie
Sad thing is the gas company has not paid a higher price for what we are using now ! Talk about Americans GOUGING Americans... It is almost Criminal...
This has me very worried as well! I'm trying not to worry about it, but it just can't be helped! I will tell you this, when gas was $5 a gallon we did a show in Brimfield and had a great show! Lets keep our fingers crossed!

We pay the equivalent of about $12 per gallon here in the UK. It's a wonder anyone ever leaves the house!
I'm coming...this will be my second time, the first time was about 6 years ago, so I don't remember much....where am I going to find you?
shelley, just found your sweet blog through "the old painted cottage". i'm also in the winter park area...such a small world! i'm just falling in love with the vintage/cottage style & can't wait to decorate my new place next month! i loved your pics...thanks for the inspiration...such a beautiful home! have a safe trip to texas!
Well I Hope you are still able to make it to your Show without 2nd mortgaging the ole Homestead to do it?! *winks* My relatives in Europe think we're still quite spoiled with our 'low' gas prices compared to theirs and they're right, we are, but then again, we have to travel further to get anywhere and don't have the amazing public transport system they have... so... each has it's merits!

Have faith...we've made it through other gas surges...we'll make it through this one. I love your pictures! What a fun blog! By the way, I have a contest giveaway on my blog you might find fun. Take a look. triumphandtears.blogspot.com
Am I worried...you better believe it...darn speculators!
Debbie
I know, crazy not good. Some of our pumps are already over $4 here in LA which makes thrifting a little more pricey now. Sighs...
If the government would let us drill in Alaska where it would hurt NO ONE, we could be free of dependence on Middle East oil for so many years that it would give that part of the world time to stabilize.
We need to build more refineries. We could be self-sufficient if we were serious about helping our own people.
I'm walking... or ridng a bike... or hitchiking... or staying around the house!
Yvonne
Oh boy girl I hear you!!! I went and filled up my tank in my car and it was not even on empty yet and was over $66.00 I was gasping at the pump! That was gas for 2 days yikes!!!
I hope you fare well in your travels...
Thank you for your sweetpea visit to my place! :)

I know...this will definitely have an impact...there is barely any profit as it is in this business...I have to drive 60 miles to get to the shop where i sell...i'm gonna have to be smart and pack well...that's not even with yard-saleing. Trying to trust and not worry.

Gas is up to $3.59 a gallon here in Illinois. Doing the Kane County Flea Market this week-end and I'm hoping it's a good one regardless of the out of control gas prices. Good luck to you.
