In hopes of tempting those of you who are local to attend my sale on the 28th, I present the Sweet Pea Cottage. This garden cottage is a collaberation between myself and Mr. Sweet Pea using antique elements like porch posts, corbels, a French zinc dormer, windows and a fab old door with wavy glass. For those of you who can't attend it's a look at my latest endeavor. In a later post I will give a peek inside as well. The sale will be on Saturday the 28th from 9am til 3pm. No early buying will be permitted to ensure a great selection for all. Hope to see you all!

What I Love~Part Three
Okay if you thought you saw this post and then all of a sudden it wasn't there, your eyes aren't failing you. Somehow when I posted my pics and then moved some of them around I caused a problem with the blog in general. My profile and links and everything else that is normally on the right side of the blog were somehow moved to the bottom of the page. I dunno! Look, when it comes to this kind of stuff I'm not exactly the sharpest pencil in the box. I admit it. So I deleted the post and here goes another try. Wish me luck.
I love grain sacks! The thick chunky linen ones, the ones with stripes, the ones with great graphics, I never met one I didn't like! I use them as bolsters on the beds and couch. I stack them under a table in the dining room. I even upholstered an old $5 stool I found at an estate sale. My most recent one has RP on it~Mr. Sweet Pea's initials! He thinks that one's his... He would be incorrect. Sorry but these are my personal collection and are not for sale.

That's A Wrap
And so on May 24th, the door closed on the little shop called Sweet Pea. I want to thank all of my loyal customers from the bottom of my heart for your loyal support. I hope you all will stay on board for the new direction that my business is headed in. Soon I will announce the first invitation-only sale to be held in the garden cottage and gardens surrounding my home. I also encourage those of you who follow my blog but are not in my area to email me if ever you are interested in something you see in the pics I post. I will be happy to sell through the blog and will ship anything that is for sale through the business (except large furniture).
Until next time, stay safe and blessings to you all...

What I Love~~Part Two
Well I guess you could say I've never met an architectural piece I didn't love. I have corbels, fragments, finials, columns, balusters, you name it and I've probably got at least one. Here is (no kidding) a sample:
A fabulous old eyebrow window and pair of old, old, old plaster and wood capitals.
A great old exterior window frame that is now on my front porch.
View of the front entry where I have the old window framework and a piece of old house trim.
Great old header from an 1800's house now in my garden cottage.
Old trellis with a fab star detail.
More old porch trim now in my interior entry.
A great old mirror frame that we used to frame old ceiling tin.
Decorative iron stove pipe ring.
Spectacular old zinc finial.
Close-up of old plaster and wood capital.
My all-time favorite pair of old corbels.
Old porch baluster turned candle stick. Rests on my hearth next to an old hoe shield.
Old finial.
Great old peely corbel.
Old header over the door in my kitchen.
One of my favs--old barn louver now on the wall in my bedroom.
Great pair of old finials--now bookends for some of my old books.
One of my favorite columns.
One of a pair of awesome old corbels.
A beautiful old plinth block. Love the flower carving.
I hope you enjoyed the pictures!

What I Love~Part One
I thought it would be fun to do a series of posts on what I love/live with. I have several collections and seem to keep discovering new ones. While I admire homes that are sparse (especially from the dusting aspect!), I have to live with the fact that I am a "stuff" person. I love my things and I only have what I truly love around me. The first of my many obsessions are shaving mirrors. These can be tough to find and the price can be all over the place. While this collection is not large it is diverse. I hope you will enjoy these as much as I do.
PS~~These collections are my personal ones and so I'm sorry but they aren't for sale.

Movin' On~~Movin' Up
Okay I can't put if off any longer... Here is the official notice that on May 24th I will cease to be a brick and mortar shop owner. Yes, I am closing the door on my little shop to seek out new adventures and fresh new ways to do business. Of course I will continue to do shows like Marburger Farms in Texas, and plan to add more shows to my schedule as well. I am also going to have garden sales at my home in between traveling and will do by appt as well. Who knows, a web business may be in my future at some point.
I will also continue my blog and will post pics of sales and also the phenomenal garden cottage Mr. Sweet Pea built for me. I am truly excited to get back to the garden style that I was known for at my first location. I think you will be too once you see it. So keep checking for new pics and feel free to email me if you are interested in anything you see.
Finally, I am having a great sale from now til the 24th on everything in the shop. I hope you'll stop by and see what treasures you can find at awesome prices!
Blessings,
Shelley

French Dressing
I've never been one to stay in the same place too long. Sometimes it's a change of location, sometimes it's just rearranging the living room. Us creative types have to twirl it around every once in awhile. I've noticed that the shop has been taking on an obvious French twist this year and I really like the direction I'm going. A customer commented the other day "You've changed!". I simply replied "Always!". I have no idea what she meant or even if it was a compliment, but I'm taking it as one. So I wanted to share some recent photos of the shop and some of the "Frenchier" stuff. Enjoy!
Fabulous old yardlong on top of a great peely cubby. Don't you love the tin letters spelling "roses"?
Great old plaster sconce.
Old church pew with fab burlap pillows and picture frames above mixed with architectural fragments.
Old french collars mixed with vintage bottles and more tin letters in a rusty wheelbarrow.
Old battery jar filled with vintage flash cards next to cute tin shoes that can also hang.
Great zinc mirror with a fab reflection.
An old chicken feeder rests against a box with tin back. Inside are a great old picture and a mercury glass vase. More tin letters finish off the vignette.
The coveted brown and white transferware on an old farm table. More flash cards for a twist.
