This week's installment takes us to the living room. I am accustomed to taking my pics by the light of day, and not using the flash to get a more tonal picture. This usually works well for me and I did take many of the pics using that mindset. I decided however to take some shots in the evening with the lamps on to see what effect I got. I think it gives a softer more warm feeling. Let me know what you think...

The evening light is prettier, giving the rooms an ethereal, cozier look. Very beautiful.
Please don't ask me to choose which I like better...tonal or daylight. I love them both or maybe it's all your things that I am loving. They say love is blind and girl...you are blinding me!

I think they both work, just different effects. I have stopped using a flash as well but have not tried lamplite. I did use candlelite once and it was very pretty.
Either way, these are gorgeous pictures. I do love how lamp light makes everything sepia toned. Your vignettes are to die for and these collectionds are amazing. I LOVE your home!
Rebecca said that she didn't order any of the ecru and white sachets for her fall opening. She did have a lot of red velvet and red dupioni? silk, but I didn't dare make that choice for you, plus they were about $10.00 more apiece. I'm glad that I got one at the 4th of July sale. I did want to tell you though, that since you are a dealer that maybe you could order directly. I'll e-mail you what info was on mine.
Hugs,
June
I found myself looking at your decor and not paying attention to the lighting. Sorry! Both ways are good, I think. If I could hire someone to decorate my home, it would be you. Your taste is beautiful and elegant. Love it!
Nancy
I love it all!!!

Oh dear Shelly, its all so wonderful. What a bunch of delicious chippy whites. I love it all.
Thanks for stopping by and all your sweet comments too.

Hey Shelley, it's really hard to make a choice...both have such a different appeal. I love a room in the daytime with lots of natural light...but then, the evening with lamps and candles, the appeal is so soothing and relaxing...cya

Hi Shelley,
Wonderful pictures...fabulous collections so artfully displayed! The lighting is lovely both ways!
Thanks for the inspiration!
Take care, Laura
Lovely whites! I just love your string collection!

Hi Shelley-
I could move right into your home. I love everything about it. The fireplace is gorgeous and your accesories are wonderful too. I personally prefer the daylight photos, but can appreciate the ones with light and candle too. Last night I got stuck with evening light and artifical lights trying to photograph the shop, and I just haven't been happy with the results. I really think its a personal perference, but both of yours turned out great.

I do like the evening shots with the lights on. I really like that softer look. You have some very neat things in your home!
Every thing is beautiful and placed there by your wonderful sense of style. Love that brown transfer bowl on the bottom pic!!!

Yes, the lights give the photos a creamy warmth. However I do like the daylight photos of your gorgeous living room - very Jeanne d'Arc Living! Very, very beautiful, Shelley!!!

I'm new to your blog and I'm just loving basking in the warmest glow; day or evening.., It is in fact ethereal, as dear, Cottage Sweet remarks.., I can see I'll have to,( will love too!),"pop back often!
I love all your photos whether a flash was used or not! Just beautiful!

Your home is beautiful in either light! I just love looking at all your beautiful treasures.
I love the tones the lamplight gave your wonderful vignettes but I think I found the items easier to see in the daylight shots. Just curious, what kind of camera did you use?
I love it, with flash and without. Just found your blog last night, and I'm back again tonight where I left off. I want to see it all.
Thanks for sharing!

Shelley! Where have I been? Where have you been? I have some catching up to do. Are you coming to the show? I love the glow in you night pics, but, the daylight pops, doesn't it? Love your home. ~Mindy
This is for Rita~~I am a total novice with a camera and am always surprised when my pics turn out well. I use a Sony Cybershot 7.2 megapixel digital camera. Nothing fancy though I would love to have a "real" camera and learn how to use it...
Hugs,
Shelley
I don't care what time of day it is...I just want to go shopping in your house! Wow...so many wonderful things. I bet your entire home is amazing. Thanks for sharing.
