Thanks Peg

I bought this fabulous old cast iron floor lamp last spring from Terri (Garden Worthy) at Marburger. Mr. Sweet Pea re-wired it and it now sits in my living room. It even came with the old tubular bulbs. Love it! But it needed a little somethin' somethin'... And so, this spring Peg (French Vanilla) had these adorable lampshades that were dripping with old seam binding wrapped around them in rumpled bows. Peg was kind enough to let me snap some pics and I decided that this treatment was exactly what my lamp needed. Here's my version... What do you think?

I too love it. I sold a smaller version of this at our new shop "the French Flea" in the 1st hour of business of the shop. Love what you've done and it sure is the icing on the cake.

I love what you have done with the lamp shade. You just used seam binding tape? How did you crumple it? Oh My - I have to have this.

Hi sweetie pea. Now, I didn't make these. I have zip, nada, no, talent for these kinds of things. It was my friend Mel of Seed Box who took me to a nice dealer at La Bahia who had made them. Yours looks lovely. I haven't even tried to make one. I always think I can do it and then it looks like "shizer" (crap, poo-poo, doo-doo, etc. Peg

Love that lampshade! I once had one sort of like that with a cherub base. It was beautiful-or at least I thought. One day when I was near my booth, two older women walked by and saw the lamp. One of them said look! She didnt even have enough money to finish the lampshade. Needless to say I loved it-naked shade and all....Love Tiina..
